A strawberry is a perfect fruit to give them. You can cut them up into perfect little size bites for your little guy. They are a sweet treat he will really enjoy and have fun eating.

In Moderation Only

Like with any food in any diet, moderation is best for digestion. You can’t feed your precious pig more than 1 strawberry in one day.

Strawberries contain a ton of sugar, so you want to watch out with how many you feed your pet. A lot of sugar can cause digestive problems and could potentially lead to obesity in your guinea pigs.

Can They Eat the Whole Strawberry?

Guinea pigs can eat strawberries. But can they eat the whole strawberry? Are there parts they can’t have? No. Guinea pigs can eat any part of the strawberry.

The leaves are okay and could be a nice little chewy treat. The stem is fine too, only make sure that it isn’t too big. Guinea pigs have tiny mouths, and you don’t want your little guy to choke.

If the stem is bigger, chop it up to a smaller size. The seeds are okay as well. There is no need to cut the skin of the strawberry off before feeding it to your guinea pig.
